About me

I am a senior technology and information systems leader with deep experience in national digital platforms, research information infrastructure, and AI-driven knowledge workflows. I served as Deputy Director General at the National Informatics Centre (NIC), Government of India, where I shaped large information systems used across ministries, research institutions, and public service organisations.

Across my career, I built and managed platforms that strengthened India’s research and information ecosystem. I introduced international biomedical databases to India in the pre-Internet era, designed national-level indexing systems, and developed full-text digital collections and open-access services for scholarly communication. These initiatives supported researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and public information users across the country.

As head of the Bibliographic Informatics Division at NIC, I directed teams working on metadata standards, digital repositories, research information systems, and structured information platforms. Later, at NIC Headquarters, I led Programme Management and Parliament Matters, where I handled organisation-wide project performance, policy reporting, and coordination at the national level.

My current work focuses on Artificial Intelligence for information-intensive environments. I study how AI reshapes discovery, literature analysis, data workflows, and content generation. I help organisations understand how to redesign their information systems for an AI-first world. I train professionals, consult on AI adoption strategies, and run active online communities that promote practical AI literacy.

I bring a rare combination of strategic leadership, domain depth, and hands-on understanding of how information systems and AI must work together.
